Join Martin Alexander for a hands-on workshop on the traditional craft of broom making. Learn to create a beautiful and functional turkey wing whisk broom. Its unique shape and intricate construction make it a conversation piece as well as a useful tool. These brooms are made with natural broomcorn, a type of sorghum grass that is known for its durability and flexibility. Martin will teach you the traditional techniques for binding and shaping the broomcorn to create a sturdy and attractive broom. What to Wear
Comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes. Boots or sneakers are fine and long pants are preferable. Do not wear loose or baggy clothing and please tie back long hair. No dangly jewelry. Please note, this is a woodshop with no AC. You can expect to get sweaty and dusty. Woodworking is hard work!
